The Movie

On the eve of her 35th birthday, Megan moved back into her childhood home. For the first time in her life, she was alone; both of her parents are dead. In cleaning out her parents’ belongings, she found her father’s journal, long believed lost in a fire. It chronicled his 1973 solo bike journey through Ireland when he was just 26 years old. Struggling with her own grief and broken heart, she decides to take her father’s journal and his original 1973 red Peugeot and return to the land of her ancestors. Will retracing her father’s journey help her to find her own way forward?

  1. OMG Megan! I waited too long to purchase tickets for your premier and missed out but I hear that you may have a second showing so I’ll try for that one. I watched the trailer at work – big mistake! I am now telling people the tears in my eyes are due to a sneezing fit. What a great tribute to your parents, your family and your father’s original trip – and to you too! You did something totally amazing and turned it into something even better. Good luck on the premier Megan – you deserve every good thing that comes your way. Kathy Bazley (long time listener and follower – Baltimore Ontario).

  2. Hi Megan,

I am from Peterborough and live in Toronto. As another Irish descendant and female cyclist, I would absolutely love to see your film. I hope you have more screenings, possibly in Toronto? 🙂

    • Hi there Erin! Thanks for reaching out. I had a screening in Toronto in June 2016, but unfortunately don’t have any future screenings booked for the city. The DVD will be available on my website soon! Thanks for your support!

  3. Hi Megan
I was among the privileged crowd who viewed your film in Calgary. You have inspired me to Smile More, Ride a Bike, Be Courageous and Cherish my Family and Friends. I will not, however, be hanging off of cliffs!
Murphy’s Law is a Beautiful Tribute to the Human Spirit.
    Thank You!

  4. Thank you so much, Megan, for creating this beautiful film of your inner and outer journey through loss, discovery and the retracing of steps and then sharing it with the world. I am very appreciative of having been able to view your very loving, courageous, honest work of art.
