Top O’ the Mornin’ to ya folks! I hope this blog finds you well and healthy and doing your very best to get by in the black hole of time that is COVID.
I wanted to share some news about an event that my dear friend, Kate Suhr, and I are putting on this very weekend. Last summer, we created a show called The Verandah Society, (inspired by a previous blog post). Every weekend we would load up our hatchbacks with our simple set and bring story and song, directly to our audiences on their very own verandahs. It was magical! We visited over 100 verandahs, carports, driveways, barns, back decks and hay fields. We gathered in small groups to entertain, to kibitz and to build community. It saved our little souls during an otherwise bleak time. We’re looking forward to another summer of story and song, but in the meantime, we’ve created a live virtual show that we would love to share with you!
We are extending St. Patrick’s Day because…well, why not?! We’ve created a 45-minute St. Paddy’s Day show that we safely perform over Zoom. At first, we were reticent to join the Zoom parade, but we’ve done a number of them now and I promise, it still feels intimate and soulful! It would be grand if you were able to join us! Friday March 19th at 8pm and Saturday March 20th at 2pm and 8pm in the good ol’ Zoom Room Virtual Verandah Pub!
Thank you for all your support! Hope to virtually see you soon and looking forward to the day when we can safely meet again on the real verandah!
